Axel Sandin Pellikka Wins SHL Championship with Skellefteå AIK
The Red Wings can add championship pedigree to the scouting report of prospect Axel Sandin Pellikka.

The Swedish defenseman drafted 17th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft won the SHL Championship with Skellefteå AIK on Monday. He missed the first two games of his team’s series against Rogle, but he came back and played just over 20 minutes each night in the final three games to close out the series in five. Sandin Pellikka also won the Borje Salming Trophy earlier this season, awarded to the SHL’s best defenseman.
- One of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 2025 campaign promises was to conduct mass arrests and deportations of immigrants living in the country illegally beginning on the first day of his presidency.
- Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, said widespread arrests had begun “across the country” as of this writing, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had arrested more than 300 “serious criminals” since Jan. 20, 2025. However, this number isn’t much higher than arrests in previous years under former President Joe Biden.
- ICE is not providing information regarding specific cities or dates where raids may occur and, despite Homan’s claims, a planned raid in Chicago appeared not to happen.
- A directive under the new Trump administration will allow ICE to arrest people in previously protected areas, including schools, churches and hospitals.
In the days immediately before and after U.S. President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025, conversations about when and where U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids may occur spread widely online.
Snopes readers asked us whether ICE raids were happening in cities across the United States. Social media users on platforms including TikTok (archived), X (archived) and Instagram (archived) shared purported information on when and where these raids might happen or were happening. Such rumors also circulated within immigrant communities and were covered by news publications (archived).
Media outlets, including CNN (archived), NPR (archived) and The Associated Press (archived), also began reporting that Trump had reversed a policy preventing immigration and Border Patrol officials from making arrests in and near schools and churches.
It’s true that Trump promised mass arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants, as previously reported by Snopes. Federal officials have said ICE raids were underway since Inauguration day, although the agency’s activity did not appear to have increased dramatically as of this writing.
